The ‘ACT’

The Academic All American award recognizes students who have earned the degree of Superior Distinction (750 points); completed at least 5 semesters of high school; demonstrated outstanding character and leadership; and earned a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.
Mr. Gunter noted, that awards are nothing new for Jessica. “In the last three years, Jessica has won state championship, state runner-up and state 3rd place medals and state finalist medals nine times. If she places in three events at the state tournament again, she will be Ardmore’s first 12 time state medalist.”
Jessica is also a multi-event national qualifier having placed in the top 20 or top 15 three times. “Jessica Cajina is one of the most naturally talented students I have ever had,” said Gunter. “More impressive than that, though, is that her work ethic goes even further. She participates in so many activities, at such a high level of excellence, without complaint, that any time I hear a student say that they are too busy to practice, my brain does a double take. I automatically I think to myself, “If you want to know what busy is, and how much you can get done in a day, you need to follow Jessica’s lead.”
Gunter concluded by mentioning that it is rare to find a student who serves others in the same manner in which they have been served. “There is a heart of gratitude in Jessica that I find lacking today. You couldn’t ask for a better person to work with”.
